Not all silence is empty. Something in this situation lives beneath the surface and leaves small traces: a sentence that does not fit the whole, a tightening in the body, a dream that returns. The High Priestess does not give you an answer. She closes the door and watches to see whether you can listen before you begin inventing. Her knowledge is slow and merciless. It separates what you want to be true from what you already know but do not wish to name. Do not turn every shiver into an omen; fear knows how to whisper too. Gather the observations, let them settle and notice what remains after the silence. Not everything needs to be revealed yet. Both seeds and corpses do part of their work in the dark; it is still worth remembering the difference. When the moment comes, you will know what must be said — not because the voice is shouting, but because it no longer falls silent.
Reversed
The High Priestess’s door has been closed so long that the room is beginning to run out of air. Silence no longer brings clarity; it feeds assumptions. Something essential remains unsaid, perhaps by you, perhaps to you. The reversed High Priestess warns against confusing inner knowledge with fear wearing the family jewelry. You may know the truth and be avoiding it. Just as easily, you may be missing a crucial fact, leaving the mind to fill the empty space with its own corpses. Do not dig deeper into feeling alone. Bring the thought into daylight through observation, rest or an honest conversation. Ask what is true, what is assumed and what belongs to an old wound. A secret that requires you to make yourself smaller in order to protect it is not sacred. It is a cage.
